Thank You for the quick response.

I did a fresh instal of 4.3.5, and everything is working well. 

In case others have any challenges with search,
While logged in as host, after going to host>search admin and configuring this, I did a search and then on the search results page, I clicked on the menu to configure the page, where there are specific settings that you can set with regard to the search results.

So simple, but I missed this.

Hi bobbyj247,

i also did a fresh install of dnn435. so far the installation was successful.. it already said "CLICK HERE TO ACCESS YOUR PORTAL". but when i clicked it, it showed me an error: "OBJECT REFERENCE NOT SET TO AN INSTANCE OF AN OBJECT". i'm not sure what went wrong cuz the installation was said to be successful. any light on this? thanks so much!

I wish I could help you.  The only thing that crossed my mind, that took me a while to troubleshoot, was that on another account in upgrading from 3.x to 4.3.5

I forgot to switch my .Net version from 1 to 2 on my hosting account.

Can you point me to where the basic install instructions are? I've downloaded the install.zip
