Hi Sebastian,

I would like to know with DNN, I can make my own site (galley,forum,etc...).  If yes, what is the first step that i'll take?  I was reading the Installation Guide that I download and it really confuses me, the Local Intranet terms are new to me.

Can you please lead to me an easiest way?

thanks.

First step decide which version DNN you want to work with. The latest released version is still 4.0.3, but 4.3.x will hopefully be ready shortly. You will most likely want to download and install using the startkit version. You should be able to follow the installation instructions from here http://forums.asp.net/1114393/ShowPost.aspx. If you run into any problems try searching in the "install it" or "configure it" forums. Most of the problems you might run into have already been answered there.

Good luck

Shaun,

Thank you for detailed description of download packages. Could you update the main download page (http://www.dotnetnuke.com/tabid/125/default.aspx) to include this description (or add a  link to this post)?

Thanks,
Michael Freidgeim.

The instructions you refer to say. "You can get the DotNetNuke 4.0.0 Starter Kit here:

http://www.dotnetnuke.com/About/Downloads/tabid/125/Default.aspx

Once you have the DotNetNuke_4.0.0_StarterKit.vsi downloaded, you simply need to double-click the file in order to launch the installer."

I downloaded the 4.0.0 starter kit and unzipped it.  Which file do I simply double click?

Thanks

Don

You simply double click on the dotnetnuke_4.x.x.vsi file. I think .vsi is the extention for Visual Studio Installation/Installer.
