Just noticed your reply.

I agree it is also device dependent.  But the real problem is that touch in IE 10 is handled differently.  I have tested this on DNN 7 as well with basically the same results. I also use another, slightly older css menu system and the problem is the same in IE10 in Windows 8.  Since they now have released IE10 for Windows 7, I will load it on one of our test machines and test it.  I have both a desktop with a touch screen and a Windows 8 touch laptop for testing.

I also made a change to the js by changing the mouseout timeout value in the skin javascript file, but then the submenu stays too long if you move to another parent.  What change did you make? I did notice that the jquery.megamenu.js has a 'firsttouch' routine, but I'm not sure if this is where the problem occurs in IE 10.

This is logged in Gemini at DNN-24043, but it says resolved in the detail, but doesn't say resolved when you are viewing the summary page.  I have tested this on Windows 8 using all the browsers. I have tested on DNN 6.2.2, 7.0.4, and 7.0.5, all with the same results.

Again only IE 10 has the problem.

Has anyone come up with a way to fix or work around with in IE10? Working on a new template for our site and just came across this problem. It always seems like we have to create fixes for IE vs other browsers....

Even though Gemini reported that this is fixed in 7.0.6, it doesn't seem to work.

We upgraded our internal server to 7.0.6 and loaded the default Gravity skin.  I tested on a Lenovo Tablet and a Windows Phone 8 Nokia and it's the same problem. Chrome works fine, even with other menu systems.  Even IE 9 works great. I'm not sure it's something that DNN can fix.

However, with all the contacts that the DNN team should have with Microsoft, someone should be able to find out what IE 10 is doing things differently.

I guess we could cross our fingers when IE 11 ships with the Windows 8.1 public preview on Wednesday, the 26th.
