Always find it interesting how little response one gets to any discussions regarding faults or failures in the installer.
I guess it just works for everyone else - that or everyone is getting sucked in the evoq free trial cycle.
Go figure

Westa

Hi Westa,
Actually, I am upgrading my dev servers from 2008 to 2012 and all that entails. As part of it I am installing new cuts of DNN etc. I also got this message.

The requested content appears to be script and will not be served by the static file handler.

Back when I was first a DNN user there were plenty of people who were able (and willing) to answer questions on the community edition. But that seems to have fallen away quite a bit. Some guys are still very helpful. I guess the fact that so many more people are coming to DNN and to answer all their questions is a huge overheard. Or perhaps now that DNN is much more commercial they are looking to be paid for such support.  Which I have no problem with either.

But over the last month or so I have learned WordPress and built my first ecommerce site with wordpress. When you use wordpress everything just works. You install the core then install the plugins you want and there was just no problem. It all worked as documented. I would love to see DNN be as reliable and as easy to install as WP. I have built a data warehouse off the back of DNN so I would love to see more DNN and more people then needing a data warehouse that matches it......so hopefully the guys will hear us say "hey, please make the installs and upgrades much more reliable and robust" and have a good forum for support for installs/upgrades. It can only help DNN, even if it does cost some time and money to improve the installs and provide the support. It is always a tough balancing act so I am not being too critical. DNN has been a remarkable achievement when you think back 6 or 7 years.

Best Regards Peter
