It doesn't work in the same way it doesn't work for me. Depending on the computer setup one of two things happens.

1) The PDF opens in a new window adn then page in the background turns blank. So once you close the PDF you are staring at a blank page and have to hit the back button.

2) On other computers Acrobat starts to open but then never displays the document at all. Just a dead seeming link.

Both situations are a BIG problem. But if you directly link to the document like "dotnetnuke/portals/12/mydoc.pdf" then it opens fine. So that proves it's a DNN error and not a browser or Acrobat glitch.

I went into the DNN bug tracking system and found this issue.....AND they have it set as "withdrawn, won't fix"!!!!! I can't believe that. Every other web site can link to PDF files just fine EXCEPT now for DNN....and the team has decided not to fix the problem? It doesn't matter if the technical problem is Adobe or not, DNN can't link to PDF files like every other site in the world and that is a MAJOR problem. HUGE.

Please DNN core team, I used to be able to link to PDF files and now all my users get is a blank page...

Does anyone have a fix as it doesn't look like future releases will be fixing the issue?

I think the "won't fix" in gemini was just housekeeping, maybe it was a duplicate or something.  The problem is being addressed in the next core release.
