The reason why some people keep sticking with Ventrian Modules is that at today there is nothing alternative!

Vendor who claims that his module provides the same functionality as the Ventrian article module says false and although it may replace Ventrian News Articles in some cases, certainly it has nothing to do with Ventrian Property Agent which it has many more features that News Articles!
Different opinion can be for those who do not know or use the modules Ventrian superficially but for those who use them in deep mode is no possible to find alternative!

In case ventrian not continue the development of its modules and will not keep what was said by Scott, I believe that the best possible choice from Ventrian is to sell its modules in a company that can take over, but in this case you are losing valuable time for the value of the modules that day after day are losing confidence in its customers due to lack of support and development...
...until then I'm continuing to meet the needs of many of my clients thanks to Property Agent module and thanks to the source code I could do customizations very accurate and this is the only reason that to date I have not yet switched to wordpress which has much more choice of modules and skins than DNN!

 

Scippy, I used News Articles on my old site for at least 6 years. I have written over 1000 manuals in News Articles. I know it very well and I searched for a long time to replace it and found Mandeeps Live Articles to be the only one to come close. Things are done a bit different compared to NA but once you have worked awhile with LA you will see that it replaces NA very well. It can even import articles from NA for you.

I don't know about PA but I had a quick look at it and key element is that you have custom fields you can use. In Live Articles you can do just that and create a template to sell houses, boats or whatever. Give a try and do not give up after a day.

I don't own stock in Mandeeps or whatever but after long consideration I choose them to be my #1 module vendor. Why? Not price but they are a team and their design of the modules is consistent. Once you know one  you understand all of them. Makes it very easy to work with. And their response to issues is lightning fast.

Do a search for "real estate" in the store and you'll find some modules. Are you saying you tried every single one of them and they don't meet your requirements? What are your requirements? You can ask the vendor's of the closest one and tell them you want to do X... how can I do it? They might tell you exactly how it's done. Sure.. it's not going to be the same way like your favorite old module but if it can be done. Some modules are not documented well and have "hidden" features. You just have to spend some time doing some research... time spent well and better than waiting for a module resurrection.
