Greetings! I have a page on our site that we want to restrict to registered users. When I configure Page Permissions so that:
  • "All Users" cannot view the page (unchecked).
  • ""Registered Users" can view the page (checked).
then the page is removed from the menu.
I understand why this would be the default behavior, but I would like to override that so that the page IS listed in the menu and if a guest selects it then they should be presented with the login page (and redirected back to the desired page if successful).

Can this be done?

Best,
Scott

Hi Scott
You can use the Navigate permission option along with the view permission.

Thanks,

I haven't tried, but you might be able to create a page with public permission, which shows up in menu and redirects to another (private) page, which would force the user to login. However, there was a report in the issue tracker (http://support.dnnsoftware.com), that the redirect to login function upon missing permission is broken in DNN 7.4.1, if I remember correctly.

Sunil,

Thank you.  I should have mentioned that this is a community edition 7.4.1.

I do see the Navigate, and many other permissions in the paid editions.  Perhaps one day I'll get to work on that platform, but alas not for this project.

Best,
Scott

Okay Scott, but don't forget to let us know, if you find any solution for the community edition.

Thanks,
