Hello

I have recently installed DNN 4.3.4 and I am finding several errors when trying to use it I am not sure if files have become corrupt during install or if the errors are somehow related, but I don't know to what.  I am not a developer so I am only guessing.

  • I had a great deal of difficulty getting it installed in the first place.
  • After install, the first problem I had was changing the default passwords, it rejected each one. After several attempts I managed to changed the default password for the host.
  •  I had the same problem with the admin password, I tried several passwords making them as difficult as possible but each was not accepted. However, now I can't log in as admin because somehow it must have accepted one of the passwords even though it said it not accepted, but I don't know what it is. How can I log in as admin or find out what the password is? Any suggestions how I might get the password and or log in?
  • I tried to create a new page using the Speerio/Skinergy accessibility defult page and was given an  "ambiguous namespace" error.  I thought perhaps that this function did not work with DNN 4.3.4. I passed the error on to  Speerio, I am awaiting a reply.
  • I was then unable to edit my text in the text/html module, I got this error:Within the text box I saw this message:
  • FreeTextBox has not been correctly installed. To install FreeTextBox either:
    (1) add a reference to FtbWebResource.axd in web.config:
    <system.web>
    <httpHandlers>
    <add verb="GET"
    path="FtbWebResource.axd"
    type="FreeTextBoxControls.AssemblyResourceHandler, FreeTextBox" />
    </httpHandlers>
    </system.web>
  • (2) Save the FreeTextBox image and javascript files to a location on your website and set up FreeTextBox as follows
    <FTB:FreeTextBox id="FreeTextBox1" SupportFolder="ftbfileslocation" JavaScriptLocation="ExternalFile" ButtonImagesLocation="ExternalFile" ToolbarImagesLocation="ExternalFile" ButtonImagesLocation="ExternalFile" runat="server" />
  • I found that some folders/files where missing which I then installed and this solved the problem.
  • Now the latest problems is: I can't get into my file manager:
  • Error: File Manager is currently unavailable.
    DotNetNuke.Services.Exceptions.ModuleLoadException: D:\hshome\xxx\xxxxxx\Admin\Files\FileManager.ascx.vb(779): error BC30560: 'ZipEntry' is ambiguous in the namespace 'ICSharpCode.SharpZipLib.Zip'. ---> System.Web.HttpCompileException: D:\hshome\xxx\xxxxxx\Admin\Files\FileManager.ascx.vb(779): error BC30560: 'ZipEntry' is ambiguous in the namespace 'ICSharpCode.SharpZipLib.Zip'. at System.Web.Compilation.BuildManager.CompileWebFile(VirtualPath virtualPath) at System.Web.Compilation.BuildManager.GetVPathBuildResultInternal(VirtualPath virtualPath, Boolean noBuild, Boolean allowCrossApp, Boolean allowBuildInPrecompile) at System.Web.Compilation.BuildManager.GetVPathBuildResultWithNoAssert(HttpContext context, VirtualPath virtualPath, Boolean noBuild, Boolean allowCrossApp, Boolean allowBuildInPrecompile) at System.Web.Compilation.BuildManager.GetVPathBuildResultWithAssert(HttpContext context, VirtualPath virtualPath, Boolean noBuild, Boolean allowCrossApp, Boolean allowBuildInPrecompile) at System.Web.UI.TemplateControl.LoadControl(VirtualPath virtualPath) at System.Web.UI.TemplateControl.LoadControl(String virtualPath) at DotNetNuke.UI.Skins.Skin.InjectModule(Control objPane, ModuleInfo objModule, PortalSettings PortalSettings) --- End of inner exception stack trace ---

As yet I do not have a solution to the Speerio, the File Manager or Admin Login problem, I would be grateful for any advice or suggestion. PLEASE!!!

Sorry about the lenghty thread, thanks for reaching this far.

Thanks

Lynn
