I am getting similar page error when accessing the folder. I am using: Windows 2000/IIS 5. Dotnetnuke version 4.3.5 Install.zip

I already did Set File Permissions according to Installation Guide page 12...
Maybe I skipped a step or two?

Please help, thanks.

NVM. A friend told me how to fix this. What I did wrong was that I installed IIS after I installed .Net 2.0 framework.

This is what worked for me on two different computers at different locations. Go to IIS, right click your virtual directory where DotNetNuke is installed, click properties, then choose the Documents tab. Make sure the check box that says 'Enable Default Documentis checked then 'Add' the default page of "default.aspx". Move 'default.aspx' to the top of the list and then click 'OK'.

The aspx extention is still not part of this list even though that is the default for all ASP.NET projects. I don't know why IIS doesn't have it but its a serious oversight. Also this should be part of the DotNetNuke instructions. Maybe if you install IIS after you have installed the 2.0 framework it'll be there, but it wasn't for me.

Another possible solution-

Symptoms-
* http://localhost/DNNSite gives above error message (HTTP 401.3)
* http://localhost/DNNSite/Default.aspx gives text but no images

Cause- security permissions not being inherited by child folders.

Solution- Right click on the website folder in Windows Explorer, go to the security tab and click advanced. Check the "Replace permissions entries on child objects...." and click apply.

I have had this problem myself , and I have followed the instructions carefully , yet there are some items you must be carefull on each installation . Main Problems May include 1- You may not have the proper default document for the web application : by default it is default.asp , or html , you will still need to add default.aspx 2- You may not have .NET 2.0 installed or may have a corrupted installation , to make sure you are on the right path , go to C:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727> run aspnet_regiis /i to install the asp net client 3-real ACL problems , may include , that you don;t have the "NETWORK SERVICE" account on your access list , does not have the read write access to all folders on DNN , or may have not populated down stream on the folder tree . you can do that by letting rights populate to child folders. Let me know if any of those helped you as I have had the same problems and all of them resolved my problem Best of luck George Gergues
