Just discovered that if I rename all the Container sub-folders, I can log on. I get a bunch of "couldn't find this and that", but at least I got on. I renamed the sub-folders back to their original names and the site works. If I log off I have the same problem again.

oh, and when I do log off the webserver goes cowabunga on cpu and memory.

What on earth is happening here???? PLEEEAAASE HELP ME!!! I've been struggling with this for 11 hours now

hmm. a few hours of cooling off didn't help.

I realised that nothing in the login module works - 'forgot password' doesn't work either.

After a few tries of nothing I discovered this one in the event log. Help anybody?????

Have you made any changes to your web.config file recently?  Sounds like you may have a syntax error.  It's also possible that you have incorrectly formatted resx files.  Can you set your site to use one of the default skins to make sure you don't have a problem with your skin?

I reverted back to the DNN-Blue skin as part of my troubleshooting - that helped a little bit. When I saw the event en the event log I fixed the line that it was refering to (the only line I manually changed ... as part of my troubleshooting).

I should mention that the site had been running fine for 3 weeks.

Here is what I did up to when the problem occured:

1. Installed OnyakTech Reports module

2. Created a system table

3. Moved some modules around

4. Updated UMG from 3.0.0 to 3.0.6 to fix an Ajaxpro.dll conflict with the Swirl Chatroom

5. Moved some more modules around, created some and edited some

When the site crashed the first time I was editing text for an HTML box for the frontpage.

Right now I got the site back to almost working, except nobody can log on - as I mention: nothing happens when I click 'logon' or 'forgot password'. There is no problem browsing all my public pages though.
