I am trying to insert URLs into my DNN newsletter, that references a page from within the same DNN portal.  However, the newsletter rich text editor erases the base url (ie. mydomain.org) and only leaves the relative path in place.  This makes the internal link functionality useless for the newsletter module!  Can anyone help me out here with some new ideas?

Thanks in advance.

Oh so you lost hours and hours on it too?  Very frustrating isn't it.. Go change to the FCKEditor - which I did as a last resort and guess what - it worked like a charm.  And yes - I don't know why it happens, interestingly enough - background images work in td tags, but not the images we insert..  Someone said to try putting another competely different url in - eg.. on another server - I was going to try my little personal email account space - you know those ones you get with your ISP - to see if it would work, but on principal - the newsletter sender should work.. so I changed to the FCKEditor when it was released to test it and I'm pleased to say that for me, it worked.

I finally found a workaround for this - when you enter "http://www.smart-thinker.com/xyz" you normally get "/xyz" only, but if you enter "http://smart-thinker.com/xyz" it seems to work... chop off the www.

Yes but you need to make sure you have your dns entry to show your site without the www.  It should be common practice but it's not..however, that's a good suggestion too.  Wish I had known that on Sunday when I was jigging around with the ftb editor!

Anyway it gave me opportunity to update to FCKEditor which is really quite cool.

Yes, it would seem like this is the way forward - will have to set it up sometime locally (if it is better than the FTB then perhaps the core should ship it by default?)
