Ok I just wasted 20 minutes looking for the answer that you apparantly know but are unwlling to share.  You apparantly would prefer to make others feel inadequate rather than being helpful.  I tried using the search , but of course it dosent work well.  I told it to search "edit" in the links forum. It return all post in all forums that contain the word "edit, useless.  I read the project blog, couldnt find it, guess I am just an idiot.

After further research, it would appear the issue you are experiencing has nothing to do with the original posters problem, one that has been answered many times in this forum as well as having it's own blog post. The issue you are experiencing  would appear to be a corruption of some sort. I have tried to duplicate it many times over the weekend, but have failed to do so.

I would also like to point out that insulting others will get you no where in this world. Your username is not a reflection of the feeling I get when reading your posts. People will try their best to help others on these forums, but this type of negative behavior will not be tolerated. You need to remember that everyone on the DNN team is a volunteer, we do this to give something to the community. You also need to remember this is a free project this is installed under many different conditions in many different environments. As such, you might come across an issue that others cannot duplicate and therefore not provide an answer to. If you are unhappy about the way the DNN project is going, you can always volunteer your time and help change it.

It seems mine doesn't give any SQL error message at all. I just did a fresh install and this is the first time I'm using DNN. So I'm still playing around with the default install (using the source). Everything seems to work perfectly fine and I can add modules, but when it comes to links, I can only add links but can never edit/delete it. And the only error message I got is this:

An error has occurred.
Error: Edit Links is currently unavailable.

Is there any other setup I need to follow? I tried to search on the forum, but it seems everyone else got a different error msg. Please help. Thanks in advance.

If this issue is still happening for you, I would be very interested in what is showing up in the Logs for the error. Can you email me the log entry that it produces? It might provide some more insight into the issue

I'm also getting the error:

  • DNN Version Number: 4.4.0 (pretty much a clean install as of 3 days ago)
  • Links module Version Number: 03.06.00 (just upgraded links module...same issue)
  • Trust level (most shared installs will be Medium Trust): ??? Shared Hosting Environment
  • Server Operation System (if known): ??? Perhaps Windows 2003
  • Steps to reproduce the issue: Add a link > Click the "edit link" button > Get error:

Error: Edit Links is currently unavailable.

Thank you for providing the log. I will look into it immediately. It appears that for some reason it is not getting the LinkID. I will try to replicate it this morning.
