ok you can buy this module it contains a skinobject MLMenu, which is basically a wrapper around solpart, with two extra attributes: a rootlevel and a rootpage.

Works like a charme, e.g. http://www.landgoeddehorst.nl/Accommodatie/tabid/64/Default.aspx

The advantage is, you don't have to learn a new menu control if you are already familiar with solpart

Some more options are to use a unique skin on each page, specifying a StartTabId for the menu in each skin.  The other option is to use the free SolpartMenuModule (www.solpart.com) and use the XPath portion to specify your root.

Does anyone know if it's possible to have the two menus in such way that menu2 is carrying the submenus of the selected menu1 item??

Set menu1 level="Root" and meu2 level="Child".
