You will need to ensure that the virtual directory is set to use ASP.NET 2.0 (If on 3.x ASP.NET 1.1), you will also need to make sure that default.aspx is listed as the default document.

Thanks for responding....I added ASPNET to the folder and the default.aspx is set.  Now I get the below page:

davidtoohey,

I had scheduled back-up overnight but this publishing wizard failed reporting following error file. Could you help ?

Database Publishing Progress

- Gathering list of objects to script (Success)

- Scripting objects (Success)

- Writing table dbo.HtmlText (Error)
 Messages
 * Timeout expired.  The timeout period elapsed prior to completion of the operation or the server is not responding. (Microsoft SQL Server, Error: -2)

Hi jmehta

The database backups is something I was only helped on myself last week but as I understand it does backup the entire database. I have been told the SQL Server Management Studio Express can be used to import the .sql file and recreate the database but as I can use it direct with SQL server and get backups I haven't yet tried this.

I will try to test this and get back to you on how it is done.

With the error you have had, it looks as though it is just the communication from your server to the SQL server and it timing out. I would try it again and see if it does keep happening. I only backup the database when I am doing changes or if there has been a lot of work done, mainly as I didn't notice a schedule could be set.

When I needed the same thing, MikeKist pointed me in the same direction, and when I asked about using the .sql file  to recreate the database he said:

Yes it is very easy. Open management studio to your local connection and create new database (If you're not sure about using management studio - let me know). Go to the studio file-->open menu and click on file. Insert your sql database file and click open to bring it into the Query editor window on the right. Make sure your new database is shown in the dropdown list in the toolbar and click the execute button to the right. You'll see the executing query in the bottom half of the window on the right and when it's done it will say "Query executed successfully" - that's it - browse your database.

Good luck,

Mike

I hope that helps.
