I've tried to upgrade from 4.9 to 5.2.2 about 4 times now on a test system and each has produced this error

EXCEPTION: Access to the path '\Cache\Modules\' is denied.

On the last trial, I created these folders before the installation to see if that helped - it didn't.

I'm not upgrading any live sites until this fault is resolved.

Cheers
JC

I upgraded from 5.2.0 to 5.2.2 and now I receive this error hundreds of times a day as well.

Is there a clear fix?  Do I just ask my host to make a Cache\Modules folder?

Thanks!

I created this folder before my last attempt at upgrading and errors were still produced.

There is also another error:

InnerException: Invalid object name 'PortalLanguages'.

InnerException: Access to the path '\Cache\Modules\' is denied.

As far as I can see, upgrading to 5.2 is too dangerous and I await a release without failures

I am getting the same exception with a new installation of 5.2.2 (community) using the New Install package onto a hosted server. :(
