Hello,

after scouting the net for a tut on how to install DNN I found one on this site that some one made. I followed all the steps up to the point till it’s told me to point my browser to the DNN site. Under the ISS -> website I added a virtual drive names DNN and pointed it to the physical folder on my windows 2003 virtual server and it seemed to be okay. the problem im having is when I visit localhost it comes up with the default ISS the site is under construction which tells me that ISS is working fine but when I go to localhost/DNN it comes up with a page could not be found error. No site under construction or DNN page. Since I named it DNN under the ISS that’s where I point it right?

any fast help would be great as this is a sudden final project for one of my classes that was announced a little while ago.

again, Thanks for your support

Um, without seeing your tutorial, it's hard to say where you went wrong. Try opening IIS and right clicking on the virtual directory and select "Browse" and see wheree that takes you.

Typically, the address should be: http://localhost/dotnetnuke

the tut i found is located at http://www.dotnetnuke.com/LinkClick.aspx?fileticket=gOZGbvrVKJw%3D&tabid=478&mid=857

after i click browes in IIS it directs to the 404 page not found.

i can see the file tree in the IIS manger so im not sure why it wont run.

That, and make sure you are referencing the correct virtual directory name.  The name is not always the same name given to the folder where the web site physically resides.

Make sure that default.aspx is setup as one of the default documents in your IIS configuration.
