Hi,

I am trying to install DotNetNuke on my server using SQL Server 2005 however I keep running into an error. Everytime the installation gets to the step where it creates the database, I get a connection pool error. The exact error is:

Server Error in '/' Application. Timeout expired.  The timeout period elapsed prior to obtaining a connection from the pool.  This may have occurred because all pooled connections were in use and max pool size was reached.

When I get this error, if I go into SQL Sever and do an EXEC sp_who I see that DotNetNuke has opened something like 30-50 connections to the database. Could this be what's causing the error? If so, how can I go abouts fixing it? I'm using DotNetNuke 04.08.04.

Thanks in advance!

Which version of the 4.8.4 release are you using (Install or Source) ?

This is really wierd - I have probably done hundreds of installs on SQL Server 2005 without this kind of issue.

Hi, Thanks for the reply :)

I'm using the "Install" version of DotNetNuke. I downloaded the zip file, extracted it, and copied it into my root folder. I then went to www.mysite.com/install/install.aspx?mode=install. Once I get to the step where it tries to create the database, I get that error message. It appears that the tables inside the database get created before the error message comes up.

Anyone have a clue what's causing this and how I can fix it? I'd really hate to install MySQL just so I can use a CMS... DotNetCMS is the only decent one around that supports MSSQL natively...
