When I try to run the install, I get the following error:
Parser Error Message: Unrecognized attribute 'requirePermission'.

The line in the code above even states:
<!-- the requirePermission attribute will cause a syntax warning - please ignore - it is required for Medium Trust support-->

But- I don't know how to ignore it.

This is my first attempt at DNN, so your patience and support is appreciated in advance.

Make sure that you have set (in IIS) the properties of the virtual directory/website into which you are installing to run on the ASP.NET 2.0 framework rather than ASP.NET 1.1.  Also make sure that you have given read and write permissions to the ASPNET or Network Service Accounts for the root folder and all subfolders in the installation path.

Looks like I have the permissions wet right- but I can't find an option to ensure that the framework is ASP.NET 2.0   That might be my problem, any more information about this?

Look on the error page. At the bottom below the text it should say:

Version Information: Microsoft .NET Framework Version:1.1.4322.2032; ASP.NET Version:1.1.4322.2032

If it says version 1.1 then you dont have .Net framework version 2 installed. Get it here: http://msdn.microsoft.com/netframework/downloads/updates/default.aspx
