The instance name is usually something like ./sqlexpress or possibly ./sqlexpress2005 I don't know if that might make a difference, since you have both installed, one would have one instance name, the other would have it's own unique instance name. If I get a chance this weekend I'll try to setup my WHS to host a DNN site, I can't say I've tried it before as I too had some SQL issues on my WHS when I was trying to setup TFS

in that case i got ./sqlexpress but now i got a bigger problem u are gonna laugh, my server data drive just stopped responding, the i have chenge it to 3 diff computer and none of them see the hd and this is a 500Gb hd that had all my stuff over 200 movies all my .net websites and just forget it, all the stuff i have in there, at the moment im trying everything i know and dont know to recuperate at less my asp.net stuff. thank you for helping.

I've spent the last 2 hours+ trying to resolve this Install/UnderConstruction.htm bug.  My site works fine on my pc, but I can't get it working at my new host.  We need to really improve this process in DotNetNuke because it is just terrible.

My web host provider says my database connection string is correct.  I have created 4 different portal aliases.  What else can i do?  Specifically, how can I get DotNetNuke to stop trying to do the install stuff when it can't connect to the database?  I removed the install directory on the web host.  I changed all the install keys in web.config that I could find:  <add key="AutoUpgrade" value="false" />    <add key="UseInstallWizard" value="false" />
Any more suggestions?  I just want DotNetNuke to give me some useful feedback.  I am using DNN 5.5.

Did you ever get this resolved? My website keeps going to under construction page at least once in two days.

I changed the two keys to false for my site and that fixed the "Under Construction" issue. I'm not sure why it happened. Kind of crazy the site can go under construction with only myself with admin/host and I never did it.
