im sure this question gets asked monthly. i guess my searching ability is retarded as i cant find it, lol.

and im sure this is real simple to do. i am not setting a IIS web farm. which i find lots of threads and how to's. i am setting up just a single IIS front end. with several SQL backends.

my [hopefully] simple question and answer is where do the files go? i mean when i unzip the install files does it go on the IIS server and the web.config points to SQL. or does it go on the SQL box and point IIS via UNC path to it.

all files go into the IIS web site folder (and sub folders). you need to create a blank web site on the sql server and provide the login account specified in your web.config with dbowner permission for the SQL database.

well i got this working a while ago. much easier than i thought it would be. looking for some details now on the DB.

i was poking around and found the unchanged DB file (from the installer files) in the appdata folder. so i looked on the SQL server i built and find it in the SQL server default DB location folder. i assume that the correct place for the DB?

my C drive is very small, meant only for the OS install. if all other DBs are going into that location i am going to need to migrate them to a larger drive.
