Hi, I'm a newbie to DNN and am trying to get an installation running on my test server and am having some issues getting the default page to display from my desktop. I installed DNN in the same directory as an existing web site and I can get to the default page through the IIS Manager but when I type in the site address  through my browser, I get redirected to  http://localhost/DNNTest and Internet Explorer Cannot Disply Page. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

you need to add the external address in Host :: Portals as additional portal alias for your web site.

Hi Sebastian, Thanks for the reply. Sorry for my ignorance, I'm not sure if I understand what you are suggesting. Are you saying I should edit a host file? I have 5 different websites under my Default site and I have not had to add anything to a host file before and they all work. Where do I make the change you suggest?

Alan; When you say "I can get to the default page through the IIS Manager" are you viewing this in a browser or are you just expanding the folder tree and seeing files and folders?

Hi Ken, Thanks for your assistance. I'm on my second attempt at installing DNN on my test IIS server (which I try to have mimic my production server) and am having the same issues. After installing DNN I can get to the application through IIS Manager, selecting the site and clicking on Browse*:80 under the Browse Application tab on the right hand side. The problem I have is trying to navigate to the site through my browser on my desktop. My development server address is http://dev.arctecalaska.com. That is our internet site. I then have the 4 other sites I mentioned which are part of our intranet. They are all located under Sites_Default .To get to my Logistics application I just go to http://dev.arctecalaska.com/Logistics/default.aspx. When I try to go to the dotnetnuke application from my computer, I get redirected to http://localhost/dotnetnuke. I try from a machine that is outside of our firewall and I just get the standard cannot conect to website page.

All that said, I'm sure there is a configuration issue on my part. I'm not as up to speed on IIS as I need to be. If somewhere in my babbling you can get me in the right direction, I would appreciate it. Again, thanks for your help.
