While upgrading to v5.06.00, I seem to have encountered an error:

Server Error in '/' Application.

Runtime Error

Description: An application error occurred on the server. The current custom error settings for this application prevent the details of the application error from being viewed remotely (for security reasons). It could, however, be viewed by browsers running on the local server machine.

Unfortunately that isn't very helpful.  The upgrade seems to have hung up on the TelerikEditorProvider_05.06.00_Install, here's a bit of the install progress:

00:02:02.337 -   Installing Package File TelerikEditorProvider_05.06.00_Install:

I never got any indication that the TelerikEditorProvider_05.06.00_Install completed properly.  The site appears to work OK but I suspect (fear?) that some modules were not upgraded.

To upgrade from v5.05.00 to 5.06.00, I visited the url:

http://mywebsiteurl/install/install.aspx

Any suggestions on where to go from here?

I'm also having an issue upgrading to 5.6 but in my case it was  from 5.5.1 and the install log indicated that the telerik stuff failed.  Now I get the following compile error when attempting to browse the site.

Compilation Error

Description: An error occurred during the compilation of a resource required to service this request. Please review the following specific error details and modify your source code appropriately.

Compiler Error Message: BC32206: The project currently contains references to more than one version of Telerik.Web.UI, a direct reference to version 2010.2.713.35 and an indirect reference (through 'DotNetNuke.Web.UI.WebControls.DnnWindowManager') to version 2010.2.929.35. Change the direct reference to use version 2010.2.929.35 (or higher) of Telerik.Web.UI.

I finally managed to fix it by changing the binding redirect in web.config for the telerik stuff to:

<bindingRedirect oldVersion="2008.0.0.0-2020.0.0.0" newVersion="2010.02.0929.35" />

Did either one of you manually configure your web.config settings prior to upgrading?
Have either one of you upgraded or downgraded to a different Telerik package than what is shipped with DNN?

Thx,

No my web.config is completely vanilla.  Likewise the Telerik package.  Are there any excerpts from the web.config file that would be helpful for you?
