Hi

I know that this might be a strange question BUT I have to downgrade my DB so that I can move out website from our local server to our host. Our host only supports MS SQL 2005 and we are currently using SQL 2008.

I have imported all the data into a SQL 2005 database using the "MS SQL 2008 Management Studio" . The Problem I have is that when I try access the site it want to install 5.6.0 all over again. I obviously dont want to do that.

When I do reinstall it breaks the DB (in desperation I tried it)

Any ideas of what my next step should be??? (Apart from getting a new hosting provider)

Any comments will be greatly appreciated!

To do a downgrade/migration you will need to ensure that all data is pulled, including tables, procedures, etc.

Overall, the best bet is either to use a third party tool that can do the comparisons, or as you mentioned get a new host.
