YES, it is apparently a HECK OF A LOT more complicated than I can handle, but I have the terrible nagging feeling that it is a BDU problem.

BDU is Brain Dead User and I am the user.    LOL

please make sure to assign a single worker process to your app pool - multiple worker processes (Web Garden) is not supported. if your app pool is recycled frequently, make sure a) to use a dedicated app pool for your site only and b) to use integrated mode, which is much more efficient. c) review settings for recycling the app pool. disable recycling after some minutes of inactivity and use mem/cpu limits, which are suitable for your site.

THANK YOU

That was ONE of the problems, but I changed the worker pool when I could not add a module.

This is a fairly fast server, but I recently had to rebuild it so I MUST have set something wrong.  I am reformatting and reinstalling windows & sql 2005.

I had DNN on this server before and it worked FINE.  So I just need to find out what I did wrong

Problem Resolved!!!!!!!!!!

I could NOT add a module in DNN (any version) on the server I was using.   I spent SEVERAL days on this installing DNN many times and even old versions.   I  was getting UPSET.  No one else was having that problem?????

My server crashed a month or so ago and I reformatted it and apparently something was NOT installed right.

So I reformatted the server again and installed just Win Server 2003 and first thing I installed Intel Chip set for this server and then SQL 2005 developer edition.  I ran the Windows Update over and over until there are NO updates available.

I installed the DNN 5.6.2 and the DNN website seems to work AS IT SHOULD.   The problem is resolved.

So whatever it was had something to do with the Server and apparently nothing to do with DNN.

I do HATE problems like this since it takes SO MUCH TIME and I will never know what the issue really was.

THANKS for all the support!!!

One of the very best things about DNN is this forum.  Even for the community version, I can get support that is hard to match anywheer else!!!
