I'm trying to install DNN on my machine. OS is Windows XP, and I have Visual C# Express 2010, and SQL Express 2010 and IIS Express. I have installed the starter kit, but it did not work. I have tried to install DNN with the Install package, but it didn't work. I didn't find a tutorial how to do this with IIS Express. I'm looking for a quick and easy way to get started with developing sites with DNN and C# and IIS Express.
I will appreciate any help.

the problem with IIS Express is the missing administration UI. If you are on XP pro, you may use IIS 6 instead, free XP Pro IIS admin by www.jetadmin is a great help for this development environment.

Thank you for the answer. My machine is running Windows XP Home eddition, so I probably do not have the option of IIS 6 free. Can I use just any web server? As I understand, the trick is how to make the web server point to the DNN site. Is there a such a tutorial for another web server, beside IIS?

My other problem is that the starter package is for VS 2008, is there an easy way for a starter, using VS 2010?
