Iam installing DNN 4.03 and have quite a bit of trouble.  I have this following error:

 

Configuration Error

Description: An error occurred during the processing of a configuration file required to service this request. Please review the specific error details below and modify your configuration file appropriately.

Parser Error Message: It is an error to use a section registered as allowDefinition='MachineToApplication' beyond application level.  This error can be caused by a virtual directory not being configured as an application in IIS.

I have set IIS tothe directory.  Created the database and pointed to it.  I cant seem to find out what I did wrong in this thing.  here is the part of the web.config where I pointed to the DB.

CAN SOME PLEASE HELP!!!!!

I would recommend using DNN 4.3.5. I think the install might be a bit easier to accomplish.

I also had this error in IIS 7.0. You open IIS Manager. Right-Click virtual directory Site -> select Convert to Application -> Refresh Website -> OK
