Hi David,

Are you sure that the error indicated a problem with the table "User_Profile" and not "UserProfile"?  To the best of my recollection, there is no "User_Profile" table used in the core DotNetNuke application.

BINGO! 

Thank you so much for helping me with this.  One of our developers added a trigger to the Users table that appears to update a "new" table called User_Profile.  Only it doesn't work.   I'm so sorry to have wasted your time with this, but, again, am VERY appreciative that you helped me find the problem.

Now I've got some butt chewing to do.

Hi Brandon

Many thanks for your input on this.  I've had exactly the same problem and your debugging tools and helpful tips saved the day for me too.

Having the logging disabled in that assy does make debugging a bit of a challenge.

Glad I was able to help sort out (both of) your issues.  Keep in mind that modification to the DotNetNuke database schema is not a supported extension point, as it may change at any time, and should only be utilized as a last resort.

 
Fortunately, the core team has been very responsive to my suggestions about exception-handling in the past; I would expect that this particular instance of exception swallowing will be remediated in due course.

I got the same error on a DNN Version 04.08.03 I recently upgraded from DNN Version 3.0.12.

Somehow in the "Users" table definition "Email" was nchar(10) instead of nvarchar(256). After changing this the error was fixed.
