Hi,

I have just completed a fairly successful upgrade from DNN 4.9.4 to 5.1.2 but after checking the SMTP settings I noticed that DNN doesn't seem to recognize that the 'Enable SSL' tick box has been checked. I am using googlemail smtp settings that were previously working. Below is a copy of the error from the event log.

Can anyone confirm this?

Gaz :)

This is quite a problem at the moment as users will not receive any notifications. It definitely looks like a bug. Is anyone able to send mail (not just a test mail) using a SMTP connection that requires SSL like googlemail?

Any help much appreciated?

Please try to uncheck the setting, save settings, re-check and save again.

Please report back, if the error persists.

I have tried this, I have also tried restarting the website, IIS, recycling the app pool and doing a strange dance whilst looking up at the gods asking "Why meee!!" :)

I did however manage to get a 'test email' sent by creating a new googlemail account. But when I registering a new user account or add an event (both send emails to users) I still get the SSL error and no email is sent from the site.

I need to validate, but haven't had a chance to look at DNN 5.1.2 yet.

Please log the issue into the public issue tracker (2nd from top) at support.dotnetnuke.com, to make sure, it won't get lost.

Thank you!
