I think the main issue here is the Created on date.

"Created By System On 1/1/0001 12:00:00 AM"

This can seem confusing to the owners of the website and they may wonder if their Web developers know what they are doing. They may wonder what else is not accurate on their site.

So the question about manually updating the date is a valid one, imho. The last update date is showing fine because virtually everything on the site has probably been updated prior to launch anyway. It's just that the created on date looks like it was created 2,000 years ago.
