I used the default settings during the install. DNN is listed as a virtual directory inside "Default Website" . I Have been reading info on IIS configuration, but it's a little bit cloudy to me, since DNN is not listed as a website, but a virtual directory. Can someone tell me what settings(host header and what not) I should use to connect my DNN website?

Since it seems to not be working, are you seeing any specific error?  Any details as to where your at during the install process?

James,

are you trying to install DNN locally on your machine or on a public web server?

Which OS are you using (different IIS versions behave differently).

No host header is needed, and assuming your website is already configured to serve ASP.NET 3.5, you should have nothing else to do.  Your access URL would be http://{Host}.{Domain}.{TLD}/{Virtual....  The IP address may replace the host.domain.tld portion, but since you're in a virtual directory that has to stay in the path.

Have you had specific problems when you tried to run the web site?

Jeff

I have a public web server (hosted). The problem I had is when I started the DNN install, I used "Default" when I should have used a domain. I paid some guy yo show me how to properly use IIS. But, he was not familiar with DNN or the web installer process, so I'm still not sure how much configuring, I'm supposed to do in IIS, since DNN may handle a lot of this. But, it did work and I can now reach my website with no problems.

Are you saying I should not have to touch IIS to install DNN?
