I purchased it and I will never need to buy a skin again.  There are a few issues with some modules.  www.hmhoffroad.com

Artisteer fore sure offers the option to produce professionally looking skins via UI, though there are a number of limitations, e.g. a single menu for horizontal menubar with dropdown lists only. If you can live with this, it is a viable option for use.

I purchased Artisteer as well, however I have been fairly under-impressed with the final output skins. In order to get around issues like the Content Panes, broken icon images, and let's not even talk about containers. I do think the product has promise, but I think right now it's not quite complete and I find myself concerned that they are more focused on the Joomla / Drupal / Wordpress options. Their 'support' forum also leaves a lot to be desired, as I have not seen any direct developer feedback or interaction (at least in the DNN forum) for the last couple weeks. I do hope that they continue developing for DNN, but I can imagine it being quite a trick to offer all those features and still produce production-ready skins.

On a side note, I've recently begun playing with the Flex2 Skin from Dr. Nuke (available on Snowcovered), it has a TON of editable items that you can tweak directly on the website, ranging from the menu colors to borders and backgrounds. It's a very impressive package, so much so that we're currently considering purchasing the full enterprise license.

I have been really impressed so far, the developers have been very responsive they recently added DNN breadcrumb feature into the Skins. As I don't like using breadcrumbs I logged a feature request and next Beta later they added an option to turn on the breadcrumbs off and on. I urge everyone that wants to see this product succeed interact with the developers explain exactly the issue or the feature request and they will respond. I agree they don't interact on the forum much however once you purchase the software you can log these requests and open a ticket.

Cheers

Hi there,,,

I've been using Artisteer now since about 2 month, made a dozen skins and they are great !
Unlike some said here, I've posted some problems and else only 1 very important, ALL PROBLEM WERE FIXED  with very short delay.

The only ASERIOUS problem for now is that their menu doesn't support multilanguage localisation.  As for vertical menu, they said it's comming shortly.  I have installed over 5-6 new version in last 2 month for those who didn't noticed.  These guys do an awesome job.

Else for bilingual sites, I've been using Artisteer and didn't bought a single sin since.

Be careful though...
This software is tricky.  there's a lot of frustrating options to set else you're going to be frustrated like some posts up here...
And if you are not a designer I'm not sure it's your tool...

Bottom line, If you can do design and you don't need multilingual websites, I do recommend it without any hesitations...
My humble opinion.
