'Newbie' question... was curious what's the best way to convert/integrate custom ASP web applications to DotNetNuke?  In other words, I am not sure if web applications can be 'content managed' sort of speak (managed within the CMS) from within DNN or if the way to do this would be to reprogram these web applications as DNN modules?

The best solution is usually to create new DNN modules for the functionality.  But you could also use IFrames in DNN and add the old ASP pages like that.  That option goves you a lot of DNN's features except managing the content of the ASP page.

Cheers

At the initial stage, I may just strip the templates from the existing web applications and use the IFrame method.  I was curious if there was a way to auto-detect and set the width and height of an IFrame based on the encapsulated page vs. hard-coding the IFrame width/height parameters?

I think that your approach is a reasonable one.  It'll certainly get you going quickly!

There is at least one commercial module (quite inexpensive, too) that whould autosize the IFrame.  I've had some mixed results with it, more mixed after upgrading my site to 4.4.1.  I haven't dug in like I should to see what's going on, but it worked fairly well on 4.3.4.
