Kinda like what you're doing with this thread.

. so in the "business" world, the business world that DNN is moving in to, when a person tells someone (again, this is NOT me being told) what they expect them to say is, well like this -- "... you (will) indicate that you are choosing to retire..." , we are supposed to accept that as , what, as "respect"?  That's not the kind of respect my family taught me to hand out. But, we are all just human, as was said.

And I am not out to bad mouth anyone. A discussion is just a discussion. Notice I said in the title "not good". I did not use the word "bad"  :))

Btw, I did not lie. I posed the hypothetical example using DNN going commercial as a question. A lie is a false statement made with deliberate intent to deceive. Hmmm, like what someone(s) told someone(s) else to do in some letter(s).

DNN is not "moving" into the business world. It is entirely immersed in the business world and has been for a long time. All one has to do is take a survey on Snowcovered to see how many businesses are built upon it, or look through these forums and see how many businesses are built upon it.

Just because something is "open-source" doesn't mean that it isn't a business type venture or at least have a business like structure of it's organization.

With the popularity of DNN, indicated by the number of registered members here, the amount of downloads, the amount sites built upon it, etc., it would be entirely unfortunate if the Core Team didn't treat it as such. In fact, I'd be offended if they didn't treat it just as that and would be hesitant to use it as an integral part of my business.

Would it have been any better in your mind had the Core Team came out and publicly stated why people were not asked to return, possibly at the risk of their lively hoods?

I think not. There was absolutley nothing wrong with that letter in my opinion, or rather what little blurb you managed to post.

Ed,

Way to proudly display the professionalism one would expect from someone with a DNN logo on their profile!  Perhaps a requested resignation is in someone's future.  Heaven knows if you responded in such a manner as a representative of Microsoft, they would show you the door before you let go of the mouse button.  Nothing personal, just an observation of behavior.

Solar,

Thanks for being a compassionate human being.  The harsh reality is...(enter entire discussion here).  You're beating a dead horse.
