Hi dear DNN admins and users!

In "Readme.txt" file of DNN Framework (Source) is written:

- the {Server}/NetworkService user account must have Read, Write, and Change Control of the root website directory and subdirectories ( this allows the application to create files/folders )

Can someone tell me what that means and where I can find it and config it, as it is written?

Thanks
Miss Arzu Bazman

This is the file permissions setting, and how you get to them depends on where you installed DNN. On your local computer, you can browse to to site folder and apply security settings. On a remote hosting account you will need to look for the option to set permissions in the control panel, or failing that, ask the host to set them for you - Ask for exactly what it says there.

It's absolutely vital that you have the permissions correct before beginning anything.

Hi dear DNN admins and users!

@ robax

Thank you very much, "robax". I have deactivated the "Simple File Sharing" checkbox in 'Folder Options' and I have added the "ASPNET" Machine Account to the "DotNetNuke" folder permissions (Tab Security). Also I activated the 'write' permission for this "user". Is that correct and was that the meaning of this text, I have asked? What I can't see, is this "change of virtual root". I know where I can change virtual directory settings etc, but I don't understand it together with this context, this text in "Readme.txt" (my first message in this posting).

Can someone help me?

Thanks
Miss Arzu Bazman

Hi!

Hmmm? Sure its a problem, I still don't know if its correct what I did and I don't understand what the following yellow part means:

- the {Server}/NetworkService user account must have Read, Write, and Change Control of the root website directory and subdirectories ( this allows the application to create files/folders )

I don't understand it and I don't know what exactly I must config. I understand the first part, that with 'Read' and 'Write', but I have no idea what this 'Change Control..." means - Change to what and where?. Can someone help me?

Thanks
