Any know of any Auction modules out there? Something that might tie into a Store or maybe allow users to place "classified ads" and take bids?

Thanks

Lindsay,

We're you able to get any help/direction on this topic?

I am interested as I am a volunteer web admin for a non-profit who will be having an auction in November. The client would like to post images and descriptions of the the auction items in DNN, and I'm looking at the best DNN module to do this. I like the idea of using the Store, but the users will be bidding in person on auction night. So they don't need to bid/pay for the item via DNN store.  At the very least a Text/HTML module will work, but I don't want to rule out other ideas.

Thanks,

Jack

Lindsay,

If it helps, I ended up using a Slides Repository for my client's annual charity auction.  As this is a live, in-person auction, we didn't need payment processing like the Store module has.  I started another discussion forum entry to discuss my client's requirements and why I ended up selecting the Slides Repository Module here-> http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Community/Forums/tabid/795/forumid/54/threadid/262496/scope/posts/Default.aspx

Hope this helps you, or others with a similar challenge.

Jack

Lindsay,

Have you had any luck with this? I have a client who has approached me with the exact same thing...they basically want an eBay/Craigslist mashup-type module that allows both the listing of items for auction (eBay-style format) and also the option to list items for general sale/trade (Craigslist-style format).

I have found one module from activewebsoftwares that may do this, but am awaiting word from their development team on many questions I have. I'll let you know what I hear from them.

If anyone's got any other suggestions for module options, I would absolutely LOVE to hear about them. Sadly, there really aren't any options that I've seen in my research for something like this.

Best of luck Lindsay, thanks to anyone who's got input!

Ben, Contact erikVB (www.apollo-software.nl) about this. He has a client running a dnn auction site (www.botterweg.com). Don't expect a $50 (or $500) module though.
