I am evaluating DNN for a website I am working on.  Maybe best to explain what the site needs to do and see if someone can advise if DNN would be good for this and if there are any modules I can use.

a. The website intitially nees to ask your location, a bit like how yelp does - asking for a postcode or suburb, it will have a default location.

b. The website will be a listing site for what's on locally and local places to go.  I can see that the repository module doe smost of what I need - however I would like to add addresses (link to maps) and add events - so the listing could be a place, or it could be a weekly event at a place.

I am not sure how to do (a) and wondered if there were any modules that would do (b).

I am a .NET developer so maybe I need to look into customizing the repository module.

Also should I use DNN 4 or 5?

Hi - thanks for that - but I am looking for something more like a business listing module - that you can add address details in so it can be linked to a map - the listing may just be a business name and address or it may be an event  at a business place - e.g. a fitness class occurring on Fridays at 10am.  I would like to be able to show all the local listings for a given postcode or suburb and also the surrounding areas.

Also this is for a community site that will not generate any income - so I need something free or very cheap!
