I have found some issues with MobiNuke when trying to use it for iphone version of PokerDIY  *

If you have an iphone or mobile browser check out www.pokerdiy.com if you want to see a work in progress...

  1. AJAX on the iphone is a serious problem. 90% of the my pages use it, expecially the custom poker league module. According to the Help doc it says you need to make a mobi<ascx-name> version of the page. I tried to do this and stripped out all the AJAX calls but then of course the backend .cs file will not compile if the frontend does not match it (I use the WAP dev method, not compile on demand). So... IS this the best way forward or must I recode my module somehow to detect if it is being viewed by a browser and not use AJAX (this is a very complex module (here is my league in action) - I am not sure how this is going to work). I want to be able to edit league scores from the poker table but all my edit screens use AJAX too. Another option would be to completely copy and rewrite the module for the browser so I have 2 different versions but this is obviously a pain and requires me to maintain 2 codelines. Opinions please!  To summarise - I think we need some guidance on how to develop complex modules with mobinuke/mobile browsers in mind.

  1. I get thousands of these errors in my event log:

    Should I be concerned?

and here is my Wish List (not major ;):

  1. Ability to view your normal site from the iphone (ie. turn off the redirection)
  2. You can set Containers at page level only. I want some containers to have titles and some not on a page so I need to set this at module level (like the core). It would also be nice if the Container followed the Show Title Module Setting.

* There are no forums on the vendor's website to capture this info.

Not sure how this is useful to the general community but I take it that you have already sent this information to the vendor?

These are generic issues with a particular DNN module - whoever is using this module will have the same problem and queries. There is no forum on their site so I need a place to capture the information, and if I did it on my own forums then the next person who tried this module would post the same question here. Strength in numbers.

Besides, I think we are going to see more and more people start thinking about mobile sites and how to make DNN play nice on mobiles.
