I just went through that whole process ... moved from WebHost4Life to PowerDNN.  PowerDNN has been very professional and helpful through the whole process.
Basically it goes like this...
1. Sign up for hosting with PowerDNN, indicate you are transferring a hosting account from another host, they'll email you all the instructions
2. Change the Name Servers on your domain registration to point to the PowerDNN name servers (I use GoDaddy and it was simple to do online)
3. get a backup of your entire web site and database from WebHost4Life (i did this myself using FTP and the WH4L db backup task from their control panel)
4. upload your backups to your PowerDNN site (instructions on how to do this is in the email you get from PowerDNN)
5. Tell PowerDNN you've uploaded your backups and THEY DO ALL THE WORK :)  they'll re-create your web site, restoring your backups and tell you when you're done.
6. Then just wait for the DNS changes to take effect (took about 24 hours for me)
7. Cancel your hosting on your old host
8. Enjoy your new site :)

If you have any hiccups, questions or problems, they have an Live chat support and I found them to be be very responsive.

Hi Steve,
Thank you very much for the kind words.  We're working extremely hard through these days to make sure our customers have as good of an experience as possible and we've been beefing up our staff in order to handle the increased demand from people migrating from WHFL.

I fully believe that every company makes mistakes and should be given a chance to fix their mistakes and make things right, and, because I work for PowerDNN, I try not to comment on other webhosting companies; however, if your site has been down for a week, that is just simply too long.  If you are being affected by WHFL, contact their team and then give them a day or two in order to get your stuff back up and running, but if they still can't get it up, we are ready to assist in any way possible.

Hi All,
Yesterday during lunch, an associate and I were discussing WHFL and what we've all been perceiving as an extremely botched migration.  I've been racking my brain trying to figure out why they would do that.  During our discussion, my associate asked me an interesting question that I wanted to pose to the people on this forum.

Have you considered that WHFL might be "firing" their DNN customers?

When I first heard this idea, I thought it was ludicrous.  After all, why would any company want to fire perfectly good customers? Then I started doing my homework...

1) It is expensive for a hosting provider to support DotNetNuke - WHFL specializes in cheap hosting.

2) DotNetNuke customers typically open up more and harder support tickets than non-DotNetNuke customers - this wouldn't bode well for WHFL.

3) The company that bought WHFL also bought EasyCGI a few years ago.

4) EasyCGI used to be a heavy sponsor/advertiser of DotNetNuke. After the purchase, they pulled/did not renew their sponsorship and advertising.

5) After EasyCGI was purchased, they had a similar "migration" and I've heard, they actually told some of their customers to go find another hosting provider.

I did a quick search on the forum around the time EasyCGI was purchased and I found the articles below.

Do these sound familar except now the company's name is "WHFL"?

Has anyone else had problems reaching the sales team at Power DNN?

After all the good things I’ve heard and their obvious specialty in DNN I thought I’d at least get some figures together on switching 2 shared plans and 1 virtual dedicated server from WH4L over to them, but after  leaving 2 messages this week… nothing. Adding insult to injury is that I have had to wait seemingly in a queue only to have to leave a message both times.

Can anyone recommend another host that specializes in DNN and answers the phone ;-)

thx
