Hi,

I'm using DotNetNuke Version: 04.05.05, and need to enable upload of some restricted files e.g. swf, mp3, xml.
I've changed the settings : Host Settings --> Advanced settings --> Other Settings --> File Upload Extensions, and added xml and other restricted file extensions, this I understand should enable me to upload all the file extensions that have been added.

After adding the file extension I can upload the mp3 & swf, but when I try to uplaod XML I get the message : "Cannot upload the file. The File format is not supported."

I'm not sure what might be causing it, and I've googled various pages that explain host settings e.g. http://www.mitchelsellers.com/blogs/a... ,that seem to show that XML file upload should be enabled once XML extension has been added in this area.

I'm using Content Manager module.
I use follwoing steps to upload the files in Content Manager: Edit Content --> Click "Downloadable files" icon --> click "Browse" and brose to XML file --> Click "Upload"

I'm out of wits about why DNN is not enabling the upload of only XML files, please I would appreciate your help to resolve this issue.

Regards
HT

Hi,
As far as I know, you only have to add desired extensions in host settings area to enable corresponding file upload.
I think the message "Cannot upload the file. The File format is not supported." is given by module Content Manager which seems to refuse your xml file. Maybe this module needs a specific xml format.
In order to verify that your website allows you to upload xml files, you could use the filemanager (menu "Admin - Filemanager") to upload desired xml file.
If it works, I recommand you to ask your question to Content Manager support.
