Hi,

I am new to DNN, so go easy on me!

I have just installed the current version DNN and have started experimenting with the Announcements module.
Can someone please check my understanding of the module.

For a user to add, modify or delele an announcement, the permissions for that user roll have to be set to "Edit Module".
When a user (with the correct permissions) is logged on, they have to select 'Edit' mode, before they can add, modify or delele an announcement.

Can a level of authentication be added so that a user can add, modify or delele an announcement without seeing the Mode/Control panel header???

 Thank,

                  Glyn

The permissions work on both the page and module level. If you want a role to be able to edit the module (i.e. add announcements) but not have access to the control panel, then give them edit permissions on the module level, not the page level.

Also, check the site settings: Admin >> Site Settings go to the Advanced>>Usability section and look for the control panel security option. Make sure it's set to page editors.

Thanks, that sorted it....

It was the Control Panel Option.

Thanks again,
