Hi,

 I upgrade my dnn from     05.01.04 (3)  (local test not production of course).
I've got this error when i try to access the homepage :
'FileManager' does not contain a definition for 'Instance'
ine 321: var fileInfo = FileManager.Instance.GetFile(PortalSettings.PortalId, PortalSettings.BackgroundFile);

There is no error during this upgrade (I just had a problem with the new folderid constraint on files table that force me to delete some files in the database and upgrade again).
I tried to replace all the files with the install package files byt there is no change.
I tried to change my poolapp in IIS 2.0->4.0 but no change.
I checked my web.config with winmerge and there is no lack of any section.

How can I solve this?

I would suggest doing the upgrade in stages - there have been some major milestone changes in dnn that seem to consistently break upgrades.

Do the upgrade in the follow steps to get a better idea of where any issues are occurring

5.4.4
5.5.1
5.6.3
6.0.0

Hi,

I'll try but there was no error during the upgrade.

The strange point is that all dll are there, my config file got all provider and section and it doesn't seems to find a provider:
'FileManager' does not contain a definition for 'Instance' .

I don't find any information on a filemanager provider which could be missing inside the web.config.

Hi,

I upgraded to 5.6.3 and everything is fine.
I tried to upgrade to v6, no problems.
But when I tried to access my website, the error comes back :
Description: An error occurred during the compilation of a resource required to service this request. Please review the following specific error details and modify your source code appropriately.

Compiler Error Message: CS0117: 'FileManager' ne contient pas de définition pour 'Instance'

Source Error:

Line 319: if (!string.IsNullOrEmpty(PortalSettings.BackgroundFile))
Line 320: {
Line 321: var fileInfo = FileManager.Instance.GetFile(PortalSettings.PortalId, PortalSettings.BackgroundFile);
Line 322: var url = FileManager.Instance.GetUrl(fileInfo);

So for me, there is a missing provider somewhere but i don't know where.
How could I perform a real upgrade without troubles?

JB

very strange, it looks like not all files have been properly upgraded, please check files inside /desktopmodules/admin/flemanager.
