Hi, I would really like to ask for some guidance on something I might just not be understanding correctly or might be missing completely.

I've successfully built basic modules now but I have been struggling introducing CSS and images into my modules. As I understand DNN will automatically link in the CSS if I list it in the manifest (I hope I read that part correctly from my guide.) Unfortunately I have had no luck with this so far. I've also tried to access the Images directly by simply including:  <img src="Images/bt_close.png" /> this also has no affect within the control.

I did include the images in the manifest and it installs fine. How do I reference images in the CSS and in the actual control. Do I have to type out the specific complete path i.e. /localhost/DesktopModules/ConceptModule/Images/bt_close.png or can I use some short hand form of resolution i.e. ~/Images/bt_close.png.

Thank you in advance.

In the CSS you can reference the images with styles like

background-image:url(images/blah.jpg);

assuming that that blah.jpg file lives in an images folder at the same level as your module.css file

As for referencing the images in your code itself, that is a little more complex as a reference like src="images/blah.jpg" will be relative to the current path, which is DNN can vary based on the name of your page and if that page has a parent page or not. So you should reference images in a server control with

<asp:image runat="server" imageurl="~/desktopmodules/mymodule/images/blah.jpg" />

That will build out the proper path no matter what page your module is on.
