I am coming into a project that has already been well established using DNN. I've noticed that many of the original modules have been deleted from the pull down menu, including the Feedback Module. I have been asked to modify/update the contents of a page that has a form on it - the page is using what I believe is a customized module called ContactUS. I am not sure how to edit this because there is no place available to edit the fields, everything seems to have been specifically written into the custom module itself. Which may or may not be normal, I'm somewhat new to DNN but this doesn't seem to go along with everything else I know about DNN. Shouldn't I be able to add fields and text, etc. to the form?

I do not currently have access to the server containing all of the DNN installation files but am logging into DNN as the Admin. I am wondering how I can edit this custom module within DNN. Is there a way? or do I have to ask someone to find the module file so that I can open and modify it outside of DNN?

Alternatively (last resort) I'm thinking that perhaps I should just start all over - if I were to do that, where could I find a copy of the original Feedback module? It is possible that all of the originally installation files this will not be easily located by the current server administrator, so I wanted to know if there is a quick place to just get this module and install it in its original state (I think the current server admin would be able to add it for me). This, like I said, is a last resort option though because I'm thinking there is a reason they went to all of the trouble to create the customized form in the first place. So going back to what they had to work with in the beginning will problably just mean that I will end up revisiting all of the the steps that lead them to deciding to do it the way they did in the first place.

I'd appreciate any advice anyone has to offer.

Thank you

please note, that the admin account does not have full access to the extensions installed, you need to get the superuser account ("host" by default) which adds "Host" menu, where you will find Module Definitions page, listing all modules and versions. This should help to identify the developer.

Thank you Sebastian, I will look into the superuser login possibility and see if that helps.

I appreciate your response!

They gave me Host access and I *did* have the ability to access the "Module Definitions" but still can not find any way to simply modify the contents of the module as it is being used within the page on their website.

All I need to do is add another check box with the corresponding text.

Any ideas about how to modify this custom module?

to modify a module, you need to know, which module is used and whether it allowys to be extended by UI or requires coding - in the second case you need the source code (already on the server, if it is a WSP module). What is the name of the module in module definitions?
