I am running

DotNetNuke Version: 06.00.01

Feedback: 5.0.2

I am trying to make the Message textbox not required. I have looked in Feedback.ascx and also App_LocalResources\Feedback.ascx.resx

I have added Enabled="false" like the others and it of course doesn't do anything

<asp:requiredfieldvalidator id="valMessage" runat="server" cssclass="NormalRed" display="Dynamic" errormessage="Message is required"
        controltovalidate="txtBody" InitialValue="" Enabled="false" resourcekey="valBody.Error"></asp:requiredfieldvalidator>

What am I missing? If someone could help that would be amazing, thanks!

I have tried it, but you could remove the whole <asp:requiredfilevalidator>. However I'm not sure if the code may fail elsewhere, so test it and see if it works. If not feel free to raise a request on our CodePlex site and I'll look to include in the next release.

Thanks for the segustion, but unfortunately that does not work. It will error out the whole extension.

So there is no workaround that we can do for now?

I wouldn't think that it would be that difficult, I haven't dug into it that deep yet. I figured I would ask before wasting a lot of time. If no one has a solution yet then I will see if i can't come up with one and then post what I ended up doing,.

If anyone has any suggestions on where I should start that would be awesome! Yes, I will submit this for the next build.
