Well, that fixed the problem on the Vista machine. I won’t assume that it will do it on the XP machine which is at a customer location. I’ll have to talk them through the reinstall. I am keeping my fingers crossed!

Hi Will,

Well we finally got this “working”. The issues appear to break down into two problems.

The skewing on our Vista machine was corrected by reinstalling IE 8. Since it appears that Vista will go the way of the Dodo, it will probably be a declining issue.

Our customer however still had this problem with Win XP even after reinstalling IE 8. We managed to get a laptop with a monitor that we thought was like the one the customer was using. Sure enough we got the skewing problem. The graphics guy played with the actual size (height and width) of the Flash movie module and the DNN media module by trial and error until the skewing disappeared on the laptop. Everything now displays OK on all monitors that we have tested. This appears to have something to due with the aspect ratio and the Flash player. I am not an expert on such things however I’ll probably be doing some research on this subject in hopes that I can avoid future problems. Maybe some Adobe Flash forums will provide some explanations. If anyone on this DNN forum has some expertise in these matters I would be happy to get some feedback. There has to be a technical explanation for this. I don’t believe in magic.

Thanks for the update.  This is indeed an odd problem, but your footwork on this will likely help everyone avoid such issues in the future.  Excellent work!  :)
