This sounds like it is not actually an issue with the module or the file.  The file wouldn't attempt to render if it wasn't found, and if the width/height isn't set.  The fact that the module is showing the file and attempting to let you play it tells me that the module did its job.  

While I still could be wrong, I think the problem is either with your web browser, your computer, or both.  Have you tried on another computer?  Is the module on a publicly available website?  If it is, please post a link.

yes the file seems to render but then doesnt play. When the site is online ill post a link in here.

In my own implementation, I have noticed that if the folder that contains the media files is not set to allow "All" permissions that the control renders but the media file doesn't play. When I set folder permissions to "All" the file does play. Do others see this behavior as well? I am actually trying to get around this issue on my end because I do not want folks to right-click the control, select "Properties", and then find a direct path that they can share with others which would allow access to the media file without registering for my site and being granted authorization to listen to the file.
