Hello.  I'm sure I forgot something in the forum setup but I've been through the setup screens repeatedly and can't find what I'm doing wrong.

I set up a forum at:  http://ertc.net/Information/PublicForum/tabid/873/Default.aspx

There is a user called "ertcmember" and I granted that user access to all the forums in the group.  Even when logged in as that user though, the "New Thread" button is not visible (i.e. folks are unabe to post new messages.

Can anyone help?   Is this a common problem?  If I log in as the portal administrator, I see the button.

Thanks!

loupold has the proper solution.

Just so you know in the forums that ONLY grants them the posting permissions, they would NOT be able to modify your forum settings or anything of that nature.

Let me know if I did this right.  To start, I am running 4.5.1 at http://www.kayakchurch.com

In Settings, then Basic Settings on the Module, I gave view & Edit permissions to Admin and All Users.  Then I logged in as my test user, and I get the 'MODE : VIEW * EDIT *' bar (from the Control Panel) along the top.  Is that supposed to be there?

I need to install a forum module for a differnet client by next week.  I want to use this one, but I need to be able to have users add/reply threads without themit weirding out the skin.  Am I doing something wrong?

I've been having this same problem intermetently with the dotnetnuke forums, therefore not allowing me to reply or participate in some threads.

I don't know what the problem is, but it has occurred many times. When this happens, I look at my cookies, see if I see my userid on the top of

the page, then I go to my profile looking for something I may have done wrong. As at that time I cannot ask for help because I'm kind of

locked out, then I just get out and hope that next time it will work, as today.

Just sharing....
