HI There,

 Hope someone can help with this. I've started to setup localization on a DNN 6 instance and have placed the language skin object into all the skins using <dnn:LANGUAGE runat="server" ID="dnnLANGUAGE" ShowMenu="False" ShowLinks="True" />

When logged in as an administrator it shows fine, but when I'm logged out and just viewing as an anonymous user the country flags don't appear and I can switch between multi-lingual sites, although the multi-lingual version is available if I browse to it directly.

Is there something I'm missing to make the skin object visible to all.

 Many thanks

 Dan Bailey

it sounds like an issue with file system permissions for anonymous users.

Hi Sebastian,

 Thanks for the reply. I checked the file permissions on the skin object itself and it looks ok. It's set the same as other objects that I don't have a problem with.

After further investigation, I found I can get the dropdown menu to appear by setting ShowMenu=True but the flags still do not appear. Can you think of anything that may cause this behaviour. It's obviously reading the skin object ok to be able to show the dropdown menu.

Many thanks

Dan

you need to check permissions on folder, where the images reside, i.e. /images and sub folders.

I checked the image folders and no problems there.

I should have been clearer, when I look at the HTML being written on the page there is nothing being written out other than the containing div.

When logged in I see this in the HTML:

<div class="language-object">

Does this shed any light on the root of the problem?
