Hi All,

I'm currently trying to set up our new intranet website, but I ran into a problem: the roles are not syncing in acceptance, although it works perfect in development

Our current developent environment:

DNN 4.5.0 met AD Fix (source version)
Single AD
Windows authentication (on entire site)

Our current acceptance environment:

DNN 4.5.0 met AD Fix (install version)
AD Forrest
Windows authentication (on entire site)

Anyone who has an id why in our acceptance environment the roles are not synced, but there is no problem in our development environment?
Could this be a problem because of the ad forrest? What should be the correct settigns for the Authentication root domain? (Currently path of the groups to be synced: ou=zzz Test Users,ou=Users,ou=***,dc=******,dc=int, but also tried dc=*****, dc=int, also left it empty, ....)

All help would be appriciated!

Kind regards,

Michel

So are users able to log into the site on the forest but their roles aren't getting sync'd or they can't log in at all? Actually let's clarify what you mean by AD Forest. Is it a multi-domain forest (sales.domain.com, marketing.domain.com, etc) or just domain.com with mutliple AD servers? I haven't been able to test the AD code against a multi-domain forest. Back when we had a multi-domain forest at work (they consolidated the forest into a single AD last year) I wasn't able to get AD to work across the different AD groups and didn't look at using the AD Provider again until after it was consolidated at work. Since I took over as project lead it's always been my intention to setup a multi-domain forest here at home for testing purposes but I just haven't gotten around to doing it.

If it's a single domain forest then your root domain should be just dc=domain, dc=com. If it's multi-domain then I think dc=domain, dc=com will work but syncronization won't because it's going to look for the groups in the domain.com AD only not in the sales.domain.com or marketing.domain.com. That's just a guess until I get to the point where I can test against mutliple domains.

Hi Mikeh,

Thanks for the fast replay.

Indeed, we have a multi-domain environment. The users are able to log in, but the roles are not synced.

Actually, we only need the users of one single domain, to be able to login, and synced, but this is not the root domain. But even when trying "dc=subdomain, dc=int" it would not work.

I think I'm gonna dive into the code, and trying to fix it myself. If I find a sollution, I'll let you know!

Kind regards,

Michel

Hi Michel

Have you managed to break the code. Can you share it with me if you have succeeded

Yogesh
