Hi,

i need to configure a windows authentication in dnn. It should be based on the accounts in active directory.
i've read the articles about it. but when i do everything like in the article it won't work.

when i open the window/module 'windows authentication', i set the following params.

Windows authentication: (on)

Role synchronisation (off)

provider: ADSIauthenticationProvider
Authentication type: Delegation
Root domain: domainname
username:  domain/superuser
passw: xxxx
passw: xxxx
email domain: @domain.com

and when i click on update, i get the following:

Error on global catalog
root domain is Ok
accessing LDAP : error

what did i do wrong?

Root domain should be as follows: dc=domain, dc=com.

You may also have to user impersonation to get it to talk to the AD properly. Find the commented out section that starts <!-- identity impersonate="true" />..... and uncomment only the identity impersonate line and add userName="domain\username" password="password" so that it looks like the following: <identity impersonate="true" userName="domain\username" password="password" />. The username you use can be any domain user and doesn't have to have any special privledges on the domain. You'll also have to give that user account the same rights on your DNN install that Network Service/ASPNET user has.

Ooops, my bad. I typed that between students and staff coming into my office. It's the web.config that has that line.
